This project designed for Jonathan Tuckey Design involved the extension of an existing Grade II listed chapel building in Wiltshire. The building was concieved as a simple form which echoed the existing chapel building and the 'tin tabernacle' churches which are charachteristic of the area. The building makes clever use of the section formed by the pitched roof and the natural changes in level to create 3 bedrooms, a WC, a bathroom and a utility room within an extremely constrained garden space.
A glass 'bridge' forms a connection to the existing building which can be opened up to allow circulation around the perimeter of the existing building and creating a distinct separation between the old and the new.
