This project designed for Gregory Phillips Architects was carried from concept sketches through planning, tender, construction and post completion occupation by Jonathan while working at Gregory Phillips Architects. The house had been reconfigured a number of times in the past and this project involved a full rennovation of the building involving rebuilding the entire back of the house. A large 11 metre x 11 metre kitchen living and dining space was created at sunken ground floor level to create a dramatic main space which is the largest clear span space in any domestic refurbishment project in the UK. The grand steps to the raised ground floor were reinstated to create a formal entrance and reception rooms appropriate for this type of house, with views over extensively landscaped gardens. This complex project was finished to an exacting standard, and involved close collaboration and co-ordination with more than 12 consultants.
